OraLock™: the dawn of a new era in Yankee doctoring rises in Sofidel Italy – VIDEO

MIAC Tissue Conference 2021 – MAURIZIO TOMEI / ORADOC and FRANCESCO CORROTTI / SOFIDEL

The full speech by Maurizio Tomei of Oradoc and Francesco Corrotti of Sofidel during the MIAC Tissue Conference, which took place at MIAC 2021 exhibition held every year in October in Lucca (Italy). MIAC is the international paper industry event that sees the participation of 250 international exhibitors of the paper industry sector.

Oradoc – a leading manufacturer of Doctoring Systems, with thousands of units installed worldwide over 35 years – has involved its R&D department in a challenging long-term project to develop a new added-value solution: OraLock™, the new blade holder that deserves a unique place in the creping process. The common concept design of creping blade holder has always narrowed down the choices to just two main possibilities: rigid or flexible, both with their strengths and weaknesses. Oradoc is worldwide known for flexible solutions, but now it has filed a patent for an innovative rigid doctoring system: a rigid blade holder that can boast the profiling advantages of a flexible one. Oradoc has found in Sofidel – a multinational company worldwide known for paying great attention to technological innovation, sustainability and research – the right partner for the prototype installation of OraLock™, that has been profitably operating for one year now, in one of Sofidel’s production facilities in the European tissue valley of Lucca.
