Metsä Group’s Joutseno Mills prepare for the 2025 maintenance shutdown
Metsä Group, Joutseno Mills.

The annual maintenance shutdown at Metsä Group’s Joutseno mills will take place during weeks 13–16. The production shutdown will begin gradually by department in the early part of week 13. During the maintenance shutdown, the necessary maintenance, cleaning, and upkeep work will be carried out at the mills. In addition to the mills’ own personnel, approximately 1,000 partners will be working on-site during the shutdown.

“With regular annual maintenance shutdowns, we ensure the safe and efficient operation of our mills. Safety is our top priority. Through a proactive approach and close cooperation, we can guarantee a safe and smooth maintenance shutdown for all parties involved,” says Olli Kokki, Mill Manager of Joutseno Pulp Mill.

“The annual maintenance shutdown is a critical part of our mill’s long-term development and safety assurance. Careful advance planning and collaboration with all stakeholders are key to a successful shutdown. When everyone works towards common goals, we can ensure a safe, efficient, and timely shutdown,” says Mika Purhonen, Mill Manager of Joutseno BCTMP Mill.
