ANDRITZ successfully starts up fifth tissue machine in Vietnam
ANDRITZ has successfully started up another PrimeLineCOMPACT S 1800 tissue machine at the Xuan Mai Paper mill in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. The first ANDRITZ tissue machine supplied to Xuan Mai has been in operation since 2020.
Mr. Pham Van Dung, Vice Chairman of Xuan Mai Paper, says: “Both ANDRITZ tissue machines have been running smoothly right from the start. The second machine has substantially increased our production capacity, allowing us to meet the growing market demand not only in Vietnam, but also throughout Southeast Asia. The close cooperation during the recent start-up has further strengthened our partnership with ANDRITZ.”
This new tissue machine produces high-quality tissue grades from either 100% virgin or 100% deinked pulp (DIP) at a capacity of 72 admt/d. It has a design speed of 1,800 m/min and a width of 2.85 m. ANDRITZ stock preparation equipment ensures a consistent supply of high-quality pulp to the tissue machine, while keeping energy consumption to minimum. ANDRITZ also supplied automation systems as well as process pumps, fan pumps and multistage pumps.
Key features that make the new tissue machine highly efficient include:
- One-layer headbox for high-quality formation and superior cross direction (CD) profiles
- Suction press roll with a Polysoft PU cover in combination with StrataPress T press felt technology for high-performance dewatering
- PrimeDry Steel Yankee (16 ft. diameter) for high efficiency drying
- The PrimeDry Hood COMBO combined with the Steel Yankee provides significant energy savings. The unique hood design, with a pressurized steam-heated wet chamber and a special dry chamber, provides the flexibility to implement other drying methods in the future at a lower investment.
Five ANDRITZ tissue machines are now successfully operating in Vietnam. This recent startup underlines ANDRITZ’s position as a leading supplier of innovative, highly efficient, and eco-friendly technology and solutions for Asian tissue producers.
