A.Celli has been choosen to rebuild the press section of the Umka Cardboard Mill’s paper machine in Umka, Belgrade. The experience of the A.Celli’s engineers and the PMT references have been fundamental factors to drive the Umka selection. The project will be executed in a strong cooperation model involving actively the Umka and A.Celli technical teams.

The machine produces coated board in a range of 180-450 gsm and it features a width of 3200 mm and a design speed of 700 mpm. The press section upgrade will improve the coated board smoothness, the press dryness and the machine efficiency.

On this occasion, Mr. Saša Dobrić – Operation Director of Umka Cardboard Mill, released the following statement: “We are looking forward to start this project with A.Celli, knowing PMT’s experience will be instrumental in improving our operations. The collaboration between our teams will be essential to achieve the expected results. While we are at the beginning of this journey, we are confident that this partnership will bring lasting benefits to our production and efficiency.”

Founded in 1939, Umka d.o.o. – Cardboard Mill produces recycled cardboard (“white-lined chipboard”) with a total annual production of 220.000 T/year. Recycled cardboard has a wide range of applications in the food and beverage, confectionary, pharmaceutical, chemical, tobacco and spare parts industry. The board is also used for lamination in the production of transport packaging. Beside Serbia and EX-YU countries, the mill successfully sells products to customers in 32 European countries. Among the most important export markets are countries like Italy, Poland, Czech Republic, Romania, Greece, Hungary, France and Germany.
